This one-day workshop provides a comprehensive down-to-earth
overview of Object Technology – a modern approach to systems
development that promotes agility, reduces maintenance costs and
leverages investment in legacy systems. This includes core object-oriented
concepts and principles for building robust applications: an overview
of UML modeling for clear communication and managing complexity;
and principles and technologies for component-based development
and Service-Oriented Architecture.

- Explain the benefits of Object Technology
- Understand the fundamental object-oriented concepts
and principles
- Provide an overview and give examples of the fundamental
building blocks and diagrams of UML throughout the System Development
Life-cycle
- Explain software components – benefits and ap\plication
- Understand the importance of a well defined service
architecture
- Describe the anatomy of a typical application using
objects and components
Who Should Attend
Business and system analysts, IT and project managers, QA professionals
and developers. The workshop is designed to provide anyone with
little or no software development experience an overall understanding
of what it takes to build a system using Object Technology
Instructional Methods
Lecture, illustrated with many examples, will present the essential
information that the participants need to know. Learning is further
reinforced with exercises and facilitated group discussions.
Prerequisites
Prior understanding of software development concepts is helpful,
but not required. This course does not require knowledge of a
programming language or programming experience.
