Systems Modeling Foundation with SysML

Overview
Course 525 - 4 Days

The increasing complexity, the rapid pace of change, and the need to deliver cost effective scalable solutions faster, are the reasons more organizations are adopting an a model-driven approach to their Systems Engineering practices.

The goal of this 4 day workshop is to provide your team with key practical modeling skills necessary to successfully specify and architect complex, real-time embedded and high performance systems. The course teaches industry best practice system modeling techniques based on OMG SysML in the context of model-driven development process.

Objectives

  • Bring the entire team to an effective level of competence regarding systems modeling
  • Optimize modeling efforts by applying sound systems modeling and engineering practices
  • Apply platform independent techniques and model logical architecture structure and behavior
  • Model system constraints
  • Apply SysML to Requirements Engineering
  • Improve collaboration between different engineering disciplines

Who Will Attend

System Engineers, System Analysts, Architects, and anyone who needs to use SysML to specify and architect high performance complex systems.

Instructional Method / Exercises / Case Study

Lecture, illustrated with examples, will present the essential information that the participants need to know. Learning is further reinforced with exercises, case studies, simulation, role playing, and facilitated group discussion. There will also be a case study/exercise that will span the entire systems modeling lifecycle. The case study is designed to simulate a real project experience through role playing and team work, and to provide the best learning environment for building key system modeling skills.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of UML is helpful but not necessary.
